SL5 Supplemental Guidance
Red Zones implement TEMPEST emanations countermeasures informed by TEMPEST/1-92: RF shielding and dedicated power conditioning that prevent electromagnetic signal egress and power-line analysis [9], [17]. In addition, this standard requires that Red Zone shielding and power conditioning resist adversary-controlled active signals, including inbound signal injection used to influence system behavior, and that emissions policies define the permitted energy flows across each Red Zone boundary in both directions.
